Ben was easy to work with and very forthcoming about the condition of my sinking floor. Intelligent Home Services corrected the problem after another contractor charged me and did not install my flooring properly. The boards were rotted and I had multiple broken joists. I hated that I had to repay to get my issues corrected, but Intelligent Home Services was worth hiring to do the job right.

How big can my ADU be?

In Charleston County and the City of Charleston, ADUs are typically limited to 800 sq ft or two-thirds the size of your main home — we’ll confirm exact rules for your address.

Do I need special permits?

Yes, but that’s what we do best. We handle everything so you don’t have to chase paperwork.

Is this a good retirement investment?

Absolutely. Many of our clients see rental income that helps with property taxes or travel funds — plus increased property value.

Can it be fully accessible?

Yes! We already specialize in aging-in-place and ADA modifications — walk-in tubs/showers, ramps, lever handles, and more are standard options.
